Write This Down

I am a sentimental person. I love more than anything, the idea of leaving a legacy of love for my children. Since the day I found out I was pregnant with Sullivan, I have kept a journal for my kids. It’s including letters to them, my hopes for their future, updates on doctor visits…you name it. For his first birthday, I asked family to write Sully a message and I put them in his journal. Another time, we sent out a long questionnaire to all our family, asking them to respond. We asked everything from their biggest fear and least favorite food, to their favorite Halloween costume as a kid and what they would eat every day if they could. I love that my kids will have these fun little tidbits about their relatives to look at years from now. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine posted a craft project she did with greeting cards. I loved that in a few, she used the handwriting of the loved one instead of the graphic on the card. I decided to do something similar and want to make an art piece with the signatures of people who loved us. Cards to my kids, some from my childhood, some to my husband. I want a frame filled with, “Love, Grandma Kat”, “Xoxo, Grammy B”, and “Kisses, Mommy”.
